St Edmund's College, Cambridge

Santander awards are one-off awards of up to £2000 and available to any student at St Edmund’s College. They come in three forms: Travel awards, Student support awards and one-off scholarships for academic excellence. Priority was given in 2011 to those students continuing for a PhD degree after completing a Masters and Access students, i.e those who started an Undergraduate BA degree from an access background.

The College also awards the following prizes each year:-

  • The Kenneth Emsley Prize for History and related subjects (graduates)
  • The Kenneth Emsley Prize for Natural Sciences or Mathematics (graduates)
  • The Toby Jackman Prize for the most outstanding PhD in any subject except Economics
  • The James Claydon Prize for the most outstanding PhD in Economics or related subjects
  • The James Claydon Prize in Economics or related subjects (MPhil, Diploma or Tripos)
  • The John Coventry Prize in Theology or related subjects (graduates or undergraduates)
  • The Boniface Prize for the highest mark in the final MB exam (Medicine)
  • The Lemaître Prize for the highest mark in the Mathematics Tripos
  • The Robin Chatterjee Prize for the highest mark in the MPhil in Finance or Financial Research.

All students achieving a First in Tripos finals are awarded a prize.

Each year, our American Alumni generously fund two prizes of £1000 each, which are presented to students who are travelling to the US for their studies, or American students who are travelling elsewhere to study.

The Arcand Organ Scholarship is awarded to a student who encourages musical life in the Chapel and College generally.

The College also presents a number of Dean's Awards to students in recognition of outstanding services to the College community.
