Conclusion

The Bible is biodiverse from Genesis to Revelation. We read about many plants and animals. We also read about God’s concern and commands to be stewards. Perhaps the most compelling reason is that:

God so loved the KOSMOS that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life (John 3:16).

God gave His Son because He loved the Kosmos, not just people. There is a redemption of creation in Christ. If that is so, of all people Christians should be leading the environmental movement to help with this restoration of creation. Helping to redeem creation not because we worship it, but because we worship the creator.

For they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the creator; who is blessed forever. Amen" (Romans 1:25).

Paul’s warning about worshipping the creation turned into a doxology of praise for the creator! If we share Paul’s love of the creator we will be moved to take better care of creation.
