Brief Biography
The Revd Dr David Wilkinson received a PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics from Durham University in 1987, supervised by Arnold Wolfendale; he remains a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. After his PhD, he studied theology at the University of Cambridge where he received an MA in 1989. He trained for the Methodist ministry and served in a Liverpool church, while also chaplain to Liverpool University. He joined St John's College, Durham as Fellow in Christian Apologetics in 1999 and is Associate Director of the Centre for Christian Communications. He has written a number of books about science and religion and popular culture, including 'God, Time and Stephen Hawking' and most recently 'The Power of Force: The Spirituality of the Star Wars Films'.
