Network access in rooms All rooms on the main site, Norfolk Building, Richard Laws Building, Brian Heap Building, Geoffrey Cook Building and Benet House are networked. You can apply for a connection at any time and the connection will be activated within a few days. There is a £45 connection charge for the room. Network traffic coming in and out of the University is chargeable. For the moment the College is covering this cost, but this is conditional on reasonable usage by everyone with connections. Therefore, please make sure you limit the use of bandwidth-hungry applications, such as streaming media (RealPlayer, iPlayer, Youtube, etc.). If you have a specific need to transfer large amounts of data outside the University, please consult the IT Office on tips of how to avoid generating excess charges. Please also note that the IT Office will monitor network traffic from time to time (destinations and amounts only; not the content), and has the discretion to disconnect and/or pass charges on to anyone abusing the service.
