On Tuesday 21 January 2003, a new stained glass window was blessed by the College Visitor, His Eminence the Archbishop of Westminster. The window was generously presented by Professor Stephen Frowen, a Fellow Commoner of the College.
"Like music, colour-painted windows speak directly to the soul, but the strong impression depends in a special way from the daylight, changing from the morning to the evening. Bonifatius on his missionary way to the continent, full of energy is characterised also with his attributes, which show that in the beginning of Christianity with the strength of faith the spirit was dominant too.
An occurance of a historical dimension with a person of high spirit and an overwhelming character should also be shown by the colours used here and should further show the power of this personality, sacrificing all his being for his work.
Therefore medieval colour glass with its deep colours was used as the special ground for the painting. I think the picture is in harmony with all that and I wish you can feel it too."
