Fellow wins Businessman of the Year Award
Dr Andy Harter has been named Businessman of the Year in the Cambridge News Business Excellence Awards. Dr Harter is responsible for VNC(R), a simple universal tool that allows any type of computer to access remotely the screen of any other type of computer. Applications include remote support, maintenance, collaboration and teleworking, on devices ranging from mobile phones, computers, medical devices to satellites. Dr Harter’s company RealVNC has partnered with many well known companies, including Intel and Google. It is another example of Cambridge success in spinning out technology from the academic to the commercial sector. Dr Harter has held many positions in College, and is an active member the Governing Body and College Council. The award was presented at a recent ceremony by guest speaker Frank Gardner.
