Wednesday 24, February 2016 - The Results
by Lily Harter, Senior Captain
Another bright and sunny afternoon on The Cam as Day 2 of The Lents unfolds. With our W1 having a rest day, Wednesday was all about the guys and they did not disappoint with the most tremendous performances from both our crews.
First up again was M2 – leading our charge they brutally dismissed Caius M3 by the A14 Bridge in the same clinical manner in which they despatched Queens’ M4 on Tuesday. This earns them a dual on Thursday with Tit Hall M3, who find themselves ungraciously slipping down the division. BUMP!
Next to M1 – As anticipated the guys had unfinished business here and decisively enlightened Emma M2 they had a lucky escape yesterday! Eddies now occupies the top spot in Division M3, but as sandwich boat rowing twice in the same day is no picnic!! However luck is running our way and with Div M3 enjoying a rest day on Thurs, it looks like M1 will only row the once at the bottom of Div M2. A bump will see them out of the sandwich zone!!
W1 – rest day Weds! Back in action Thurs for a rematch with Corpus! Go girls, you know you can take them!
Marconi Cup score: 8 , now soaring back up the table to 6th positionJ
THURSDAY 25th FEBRUARY - Plan of Action
M2 – Division M4, gun at 2pm.
Hunting Tit Hall M3, chased by Caius M3
M1 – Division M2, gun at 3.20pm.
Hunting Christ’s M2
W1 – Division W2, gun at 2.40pm
Hunting Corpus W1, chased by Clare W2
A more chilly and overcast day is forecasted for Thurs, but with just a gentle breeze the conditions are still excellent for racing. All 3 crews have realistic chances of Bumps, so do not miss the opportunity for some action with an afternoon on the towpath.
Go Eddies! Row long, row hard!
