Robin Ponte, who is studying for an MPhil in Nuclear Energy, will be at number 6 in the Goldie crew (the Cambridge men's reserve crew) rowing against Oxford's Isis in this year's Cancer Research UK Boat Races. Before coming to Cambridge, Robin rowed for his country and was in the German eight that came fourth in the under 23 World Rowing Championship Championship in 2011. The men's and women's Boat Races will be rowed on the Thames between Putney and Mortlake on Sunday 2nd April. The Goldie-Isis Race will start at 5.05pm, half an hour after the Women's Boat Race and half an hour before the men's Boat Race, which will be rowed for the 163rd time.
