Arsalan Ghani, a student at St Edmund’s College, was recently elected as President of the Graduate Union for the academic year 2012-2013. The Graduate Union represents 12,000 mature undergraduates, MA, MPhil and PhD students of the university. Arsalan himself is a second year PhD student in the Institute of Manufacturing. His research is in the area of global supply networks and government policies. Arsalan has to intermit his studies for one year for the sabbatical position of president. Before coming to Cambridge in 2011, Arsalan was working in the government of Pakistan as a Director where he developed national policies and projects on business and manufacturing.
