Fellow appointed MBE in Birthday Honours Dr Ed Kessler, Fellow of St Edmund's College and Director of the Woolf Institute of Abrahamic Faiths has been appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). The appointment is made for Dr Kessler’s services to Inter-Faith Relations and was announced in Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Honours List on 11th June 2011. The Woolf Institute is dedicated to teaching, research and dialogue in the encounter between Jews, Christians and Muslims. It is an umbrella organisation for the Centre for the Study of Jewish–Christian Relations (CJCR, founded in 1998) and the Centre for the Study of Muslim–Jewish Relations (CMJR, established in 2006). The Woolf Institute is named in honour of Lord Harry Woolf, former Lord Chief Justice, who gives it his full support and encouragement. CJCR is one of the world's leading institutes in the study and teaching of all aspects of the encounter between Christians and Jews throughout the ages. CMJR is the first and only academic centre in Europe dedicated to fostering relations between Muslims and Jews through teaching, research and dialogue. The Woolf Institute is an Associate Member of the Cambridge Theological Federation and is located at Wesley House in Jesus Lane.
