St Edmund's College, Cambridge

On 27 October 2011, Dr Josef (Yousef) Meri, helped to organise the first-ever Muslim-Jewish student initiative at St Edmund’s College, Cambridge with the invaluable support of St Edmund's staff. Dr Meri gave a brief informal talk to St Edmund's students about the academic field of Muslim-Jewish relations and the activities of the Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations (http://www.woolf.cam.ac.uk/cmjr/) after which he touched upon some of the challenges that Muslim and Jewish students often face and how to best address those challenges. This was followed by a light supper. The Muslim-Jewish Student initiative recognises the supportive and nurturing environment of St Edmund's College for Muslim and Jewish students and aims to address their particular academic and spiritual needs. The evening was made possible through the generous support of the Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations, Woolf Institute. (http://www.woolf.cam.ac.uk/cmjr/)
