Triumph for St Edmund's Rugby Team! In a thrilling match held in the wind, rain and hail at the Cambridge Rugby Ground, Volac Park on Grantchester Road, St Edmund's defeated Jesus in the final of the 2012 inter-Collegiate Cuppers competition. At half-time the score was Jesus 17, St Edmund's 0, but a gritty comeback in the second half turned the tables on Jesus. The last kick of the match was a try conversion and the final score was St Edmund's 19, Jesus 17. This is the first time that St Edmund's has won Cuppers since 2003. Unusually, this year the competition was not completed in the Lent Term and the final was held on 15th May, a date more often associated in the past with inter-Collegiate cricket.
