Job description

Reporting to the Head chef or Sous chef you will be expected To Prepare and deliver all aspects of food service in the college, including cafeteria, fine dining and conferences. To maintain Food Hygiene standards and to ensure all Elior standards are implemented. You will be responsible for the kitchen in the absence of a Senior Member of Staff and be expected to, on occasion, Supervise a small team of Catering Assistants, Kitchen Porters and Agency staff.

We are a small friendly team of chefs who enjoy a good work/life balance. The role is 40 hours per week, in straight shifts (1 week of earlies, 1 week of lates), working every other weekend. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience of all aspects of college catering, being given the chance to submit fine dining menus, and work in every area of the kitchen.... you won't just get stuck on one section.

Main duties

  • Prepare and produce all food offerings throughout the college

  • Ensure Elior Food Safety Policy is maintained and that Food Hygiene regulations adhered to

  • Ensure current Elior Allergen policy is being implemented

  • Complete daily food ordering

  • Checking and storing deliveries

Leadership responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing all relevant control documents when on shift

  • Responsible for food output in absence of senior chefs

  • Ensure Kitchen porters are completing daily and weekly cleaning tasks

  • provide help and support to junior members of the team

Annual Salary: £20,000
