Dr Sanjiv Sambandan

Sanjiv Sambandan is a Lecturer in the Solid State Electronics and Nanoscale Science Area, Electrical Engineering, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. He is also concurrently cross-appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, India. His primary research interests are in semiconductor devices and circuits with a focus on applications in flexible and wearable electronics.

Prior to joining academia, Sanjiv was with the Electronic Materials and Device Lab, Xerox Palo Alto Research Centre, CA, USA. He obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada and his BTech in Electrical Engineering (Energy Systems) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Sanjiv is also the founder and director of openwater.in – a clean water startup and a spinoff from his lab. The startup was named one of the top 10 in the world in 2016 by the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
