Professor Ludovic Vallier

Professor of Regenerative Medicine

Ludovic Vallier is Professor of Regenerative Medicine affiliated to the Department of Surgery Cambridge University and director of the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells core facility. His group based at the MRC and Wellcome Cambridge Stem Cell Institute employs human stem cells to generate cells with a clinical interest for disease modelling and cell-based therapy. More precisely, they investigate the molecular mechanisms controlling cell fate decisions during human development and exploits the resulting knowledge to produce liver, pancreas, lung and gut cells. The resulting cells are currently used to study metabolic disorders and to develop regenerative medicine applications against liver diseases.
