Communications Intern
- Salary: £13.88 per hour (holiday rate at 14.53%)
- Location: Cambridge, St Edmunds College
- Contract type: Fixed Term Contract – up to 3 months
- Part-time, 10 hours per week
Looking for an exciting opportunity to hone your communication and marketing skills?
If so Eddies is hiring a Comms Intern for a three month fixed term contract to support the Senior Communications Manager with some key projects.
Job responsibilities
- Support the Senior Communications Manager in identifying good news stories and creating content that raises the global profile of St Edmund’s College across key target audiences.
- Assist in developing relevant content for a range of marketing channels, including the website, social media channels, campaign materials and printed publications.
- Help develop a social media content calendar, which includes data analytics, writing, editing, proofreading, scheduling and posting content on the College’s social media channels.
- Support the Senior Communications Manager in producing written content for a new College website.
- Completing general office administration, such as answering phones and replying to emails in the Communications inbox.
- Ad-hoc photography and videography to support the Communications content plan.
- Ensure all communications adhere to the College’s brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across all platforms.
Experience
- Experience of writing engaging content
- Experience of using social media
- Experience of using social media platforms for marketing purposes is beneficial
- Experience of using design software, such as Adobe and/or Canva would be beneficial
Skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Good IT skills including word processing, excel, and email
- Familiarity with social media and other digital communications platforms
- Good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work and competing deadlines.
- Ability to work well with a number of stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt and learn new skills
