Are you looking for a varied job in a fun and collaborative team?
We are hiring a building Maintenance Assistant to carryout short term maintenance work and emergency repairs, one day you may be building furniture the next, painting our public spaces.
You don’t need previous experience just a can-do attitude and a pride in your work.
Job responsibilities
- Carry out short term maintenance work, emergency repairs & attend breakdown calls affecting a wide range of area’s included but not limited to bedrooms, offices, and public areas with immediate effect.
- Report any faults, defects or any other problems observed during their course of work by raising a request on the ticket system so that these can be remedied as quickly as possible.
- Ensuring compliance and essential checks are completed and appropriate records made. (including PAT testing, fire alarm tests and drills)
- Set up any rooms or the Chapel for various College events.
- Stock checks.
- Answer maintenance queries.
- Assemble and install new equipment or furniture.
- Ensure external areas are always kept presentable and safe, ensuring external signages are visible and pathways/ driveways are clear and unobstructed.

The successful candidate:
Previous experience in a similar role or in building or maintenance are advantageous, however the successful candidate must have:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to produce good quality work whilst under pressure and with interruptions.
- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Understand written and verbal requests/ instructions.
- Can-do attitude
- Flexible and reliable
- Keen to learn
- Computer literate (MS Office, including Outlook and basic software)
