Our Library
The Porters’ Lodge
When you first arrive at College, you’ll be welcomed by one of our Porters. Porters are a traditional role at Cambridge. They’re your first point of contact upon arrival at College.
Based in the main reception area of the Norfolk Building, the Porters’ Lodge is open 24/7. The Head Porter and his team provide the following to students:
- Urgent support. The Porter on duty will signpost you to an appropriate source of help.
- Parcel collection service. Those living on site can have their parcels delivered to the Porters’ Lodge.
- Essential supplies. You can buy items such as bedding packs, electric plug adaptors etc.
- A friendly ear. Drop by for a chat on an evening when it’s quiet. They love to hang out with students.
- Room bookings. You can book a teaching room for a meeting or supervision.
- Temporary access card. If you have locked yourself out of your College room, the Porters can provide you with a temporary access card.
