St Edmund’s College has been part of the University of Cambridge for over 100 years. We are one of three mature Cambridge colleges and are proud to be one of the most International colleges.

Our
guest rooms

St Edmund’s College offers several guest rooms located across our campus, including the Brian Heap Building, Richard Law’s Building, and Mount Pleasant Halls. Our guest accommodation offers you a comfortable stay. You can request to reserve a room for an overnight stay by completing the Guest Room Enquiries form and the Accommodation team will contact you to discuss availability:

Our
location

We are located on a leafy 10-acre site, just a short walk from the centre of Cambridge. Our College map clearly shows how to locate all our amenities, including the dining hall, our coffee shop Edspresso, as well as other facilities such as the laundry room and gym.

Dining Hall

Our Dining Hall serves lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday. Opening times are as follows:

Monday to Friday:

Lunch: 12.30pm to 1.30pm
Dinner: 6.30pm to 7.45pm

Wednesday:

Traditional cooked English breakfast served: 8.00am to 9.30am

Saturday:

Brunch only service: 11.00am to 12.30pm

Edspresso

Our coffee shop is open Monday to Friday, from 8.00am until 6.00pm, serving Barista-style coffee. Breakfast items, such as pastries, yoghurt bars, fruit salad, and cereals, are available from 08.00 to 10.30am. A selection of lunch items, such as paninis, baguettes, cakes, dessert pots, fruit pots and confectionary, are available from 11.00am to 6.00pm.

Please note: Opening hours and timings do varying in the summer months (July/August) and are advertised accordingly.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Facilities

LaundryCard operated washing machines and tumble driers are available in the College launderettes, located beneath the flats by the Richard Laws Building and next to the MPH Common Room. Irons and ironing boards are also available in the launderettes. Cards for washing machines are available in the Laundry at an initial cost of £5.00. Note: The laundry under the flats should only be used between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00pm. Access is restricted outside these hours.
GymThere is an outdoor gym you can use. Should you wish to use an indoor gym, you can access the central University of Cambridge sports facilities.
Orchards
Our orchards provide a beautiful spot to sit and read. You may even spot one of our resident muntjacs whilst sitting in one of our deck chairs or sheltered gazebos.

Attractions

Museums, art galleries and the Botanic Gardens

There are many local attractions like the Fitzwilliam Museum, Climbing St Mary’s Church Tower, Kettles Yard, Botanical Gardens. The cafe at Kettles Yard is particularly nice.

Traditional Cambridge punting

Punting is a Cambridge tradition. Scudamore’s Punting offer a range of tours where you can explore the river yourself or take one of their self-hire boats.
