Eddies bags a clutch of Senior Academic Promotions

2018-06-14

On 13 June 2018 the University reported on its Senior Academic Promotions for the year. We were delighted to see that two of the current Fellows of St Edmund’s have been given professorships along with one former Fellow of the College. In addition to the Professors we were also delighted to see two Eddies Fellows given University Senior Lectureships.

Matthew Bullock, Master of St Edmund’s, remarked that “it really is wonderful to see the Fellowship of the College go from strength to strength and be awarded due recognition for the great contribution they make to their respective fields. Long may it continue!”

More information on the individual Fellows below. We are incredibly proud of them and their accomplishments. It is our community of Fellows and Students that shows to the outside world that St Edmund’s really is #NoOrdinaryCollege.

Dr Folma Buss

Folma was awarded a Professorship for her work in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry. Not only is this a remarkable achievement in itself but as far as we can tell she is the first female to be awarded a Professorship at St Edmund’s. We hope that she continues to trailblaze and that she is only the first of many more Professors yet to grace the College.

You can read Folma’s College bio here.

Dr Stephen Jenkins

Stephen was also awarded a Professorship in this round of promotions for his work over in the Department of Chemistry, where he leads the Surface Science Group. You can read more about Stephen here.

Mr Allan McRobie

Allan was a Fellow of St Edmund’s from 1998 and is based in the Department of Engineering. We like to celebrate the successes of our Fellow and Students, wherever they go onto next – congratulations Allan on your Professorship!

Dr Nicky Morrison

Nicky was made one of our two new University Senior Lecturers in this year’s set of promotions. Based in the Department of Land Economy, you can read a little more about her academic research here.

Dr Fiona Maine

Last but by no means least, we are pleased to see Fiona be commended for her work in the Faculty of Education with a University Senior Lectureship. You can see Fiona’s College bio and find out more about her research here.
