On Sunday 6th April 2014 at 6pm, four St Edmund’s students will be members of the Cambridge University crew lining up on the stake boat at Putney for the start of the 160th BNY Mellon Boat Race against Oxford. The crew will be led by Steve Dudek, this year’s Cambridge University Boat Club (CUBC) President and will also include from St Edmund’s Luke Juckett, Matthew Jackson and Josh Hooper. The 2014 light blue crew are two inches per man taller and six pounds each heavier than their dark blue opponents. This year’s umpire will be Richard Phelps, one of the first three St Edmund’s Boat Race oarsmen in 1993 and President of CUBC in 1995. This will be the first year in which the umpire is a St Edmund’s alumnus. Further information is at The Boat Race Website
