Dr Zainab Salim
Dr Zainab Salim is a Bye-Fellow at St Edmund’s College and an experienced dentist with a global career in Kenya, Oman, and the UK. She holds a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Oral Surgery from the University of Edinburgh, where her research focused on Human Papilloma Virus in laryngeal cancers. Zainab’s talk ‘Behind the Smile’ will focus on common dental diseases and their impact.
Dr Javad Shamsi
Dr Javad Shamsi is also a Bye-Fellow at St Edmund’s College and teaches energy materials courses to MPhil students in the Department of Materials and Physics at the University of Cambridge. He shall be talking about Quantum Dots (QDs), tiny semiconductors which possess intriguing properties for lighting technologies such as LEDs, lasers, and quantum light sources.
