Five St Edmund’s staff members attended the King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace last Wednesday (14 May 2025), a special event held to recognise contributions of those working in education and skills. The invitation celebrated the positive impact St Edmund’s has on the local Cambridge community.
The traditional ceremony is one of three annual parties held by the Royal Family as a means of celebrating significant public service. Guests are nominated for invitation by a network of sponsors, including local Government, Government Bodies, societies, associations, and faith bodies. Attendance, therefore, is only possible through invite, which included five members of the Tutorial Office who were ecstatic to accept such an honour.
Head of Tutorial, Ekaterina said:
"The day was truly fabulous and incredibly special! The atmosphere was filled with positivity, enhanced by an eclectic choice of music and delightful tea-time food. Guests dressed elegantly, adding to the festive charm. A particular highlight for me was having the honour of meeting Queen Camilla, who warmly remarked, 'You certainly brought the weather with you.' We enjoyed exploring the stunning grounds and were thrilled by a performance of the Star Wars theme, which added a touch of magic to an already remarkable event."
What a wonderful day. Congratulations to all.
