Held during Black History Month, Game On brings together an international group of thought leaders from sport, media and public life to discuss the role of sport in fostering mental health, community empowerment, and Black excellence.

Panellists include:

  • Attorney Joe Briggs (NFL Counsel / Amazon Advisor / Georgetown Professor)
  • Delroy Corinaldi (Black Footballers Partnership)
  • Revd. Calvin Taylor Skinner (Spiritual Advisor to leaders in sport and public service)

The evening will also feature the Genius for Men award ceremony, honouring individuals whose work expands the narrative around Black men and holistic wellbeing.

The event has been curated by Dr Alisha Jones and hosted by the Master of St Edmund’s College, Professor Chris Young.

About the Panellists

Joe Briggs is Public Policy Counsel for the NFL Players Association, where he leads government relations and policy initiatives impacting professional athletes. A former college football player, he turned personal adversity into a career advocating for athletes’ rights and mentoring future leaders. As a professor at Georgetown University, he teaches sports law and ethics, earning multiple teaching awards. Joe’s work connects sport, law, and community empowerment, inspiring resilience and mental wellness.

Delroy Corinaldi is a strategist, campaigner and boardroom leader with deep roots in social justice. Born in Wolverhampton, he’s gone from caseworker in Parliament to co-founding the Black Footballers Partnership alongside Emile Heskey, Les Ferdinand and Chris Hughton. He’s advised FTSE 100 firms, helped reform payday lending, and shaped national campaigns on debt, inequality and enforcement. A board member at Registry Trust, New Philanthropy Capital and High Trees Community Development Trust and a recent appointee to the regulator The Enforcement Conduct Board, Delroy combines lived experience, public policy grit and a no-nonsense approach to delivery. He believes in teamwork, clear missions – and telling the story well enough to bring people with you.

Rev. Calvin Taylor Skinner is a faith leader and social justice advocate whose work bridges the U.S. and the U.K. He is a founding steering committee member of the Knoxville Water and Energy for All campaign and led energy justice efforts addressing racial disparities in utility shutoffs. In addition to his work in East Tennessee, Rev’d Skinner worked in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia with Skinner Leadership Institute, Brotherly Love Urban Youth Services, Eastern University and Monumental Baptist Church guiding veteran thought leaders and youth to sharpen their moral and ethical understanding of community engagement locally and nationally. Together with his wife, Rev’d Dr. Alisha Lola Jones, co-leads InSight Initiative, Inc., producing transatlantic live events, diversity and inclusion programs, and leadership development. Rev’d Skinner’s work centers on mentorship, civic accountability, and amplifying prophetic voices for systemic change.
