The AI initiative at the Von Hügel Institute brings together researchers from different academic fields from St Edmund’s College and affiliated institutes.
This interdisciplinary hybrid workshop aims to explore and discuss the ethics of AI and reflect on its benefits and challenges, especially for the most vulnerable and marginalized in society.

Maria Burke PhD MBA DMS SFHEA is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Emerita Professor at the University of Winchester, having served as Head of Research in the Faculty of Business, Law, and Digital Technologies, and a Bye-Fellow of St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge.
Jonathan Warner is an economist and Professor Emeritus at Quest University Canada, and an Affiliate Member at the Von Hügel Institute. He is a Research Fellow at the Center for Faith and Human Flourishing, LCC International University, Klaipeda, Lithuania. This paper is part of a retirement project on the future of work.
Sr Gill Goulding CJ is Professor Ordinaria of Systematic Theology at Regis College, the Jesuit Graduate School of Theology at the university of Toronto. She is a visiting scholar at St Edmund’s College and was appointed in 2021 as a member of the Theological Commission of the Secretariat of the Synod in Rome. In Canada she was appointed by the Canadian Conference of Bishops to the Faith and Witness (Theological Commission) Commission of the Canadian Council of Churches. She is also the first theologian to have been appointed by the Bishops’ Conference to the standing committee on Responsible Ministry.
