Join us for a volunteering event with It Takes A City.

Members of St. Edmund’s community are warmly invited to join It Takes A City, a local organisation working to end homeless in Cambridge, for a volunteering event.

We will be supporting It Takes A City in their redecoration of Crossways, the organisation’s winter emergency accommodation project for rough sleepers in Cambridge. The accommodation provides twenty rooms for those who would otherwise be on the streets, plus three emergency pop-up beds during SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) periods.

Attendees will get the opportunity to:

  • Paint hallways, common areas, and bedrooms to support the week-long refurbishment project
  • Clean and spruce up the accommodation
  • Meet likeminded individuals also interested in giving back to the community
  • And more!

This event is part of the Wellbeing Team’s Civic Engagement strand. These events are designed to nurture the wellbeing of our College members by promoting positive feelings of making a difference and giving back, meeting people from all walks of life, and building connections in our local Cambridge community.

Civic Engagement: Redecorating Crossways Accommodation will take place off site. There are options to travel there as a group, or to meet us there. All are welcome to join us!

To give the organisation an idea of numbers, booking is encouraged for this event. 1 week before the event, the Wellbeing team will circulate a booking link to all St Edmund’s students via email. Drop-ins are also more than welcome on the day, and nobody will be turned away.
