St Edmund’s marks two major milestones this academic year: 30 years as a full constituent College of the University of Cambridge, and 130 years since our founding.
These anniversaries offer us an important moment to reflect on our history and to celebrate the people who have shaped the College. It is also a chance to look toward the future of St Edmund’s College.
We have launched a new anniversary feature on our website to mark these occasions. You can now explore 130 years of St Edmund’s. Our interactive timeline brings our rich archival history to life and offers a visual journey through 130 years of transformation.
We have also created a dedicated page introducing the Class of 1996, featuring interviews with members of our alumni community who matriculated in that pivotal year.
Finally, we have opened a new space on the website where we are gathering and displaying memories from 1996 – one of the most significant years in the College’s development. This archive brings together photographs, reflections, and personal stories from across our community, helping us illuminate the life of St Edmund’s at the moment it became a full College of the University.
Although not yet involved in the College at the time, the Master and other senior college officers reflect, with photos, on what they were doing in 1996.
