A unique scholarship worth up to £40,000 for Master’s students who are actively involved in the British Muslim community is now open for applications.
St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, in partnership with the AGM Randeree Trust, is offering the AGM Randeree Scholarship, a prestigious opportunity aimed at cultivating the next generation of British Muslim leaders.
Now in its eighth year, the scholarship supports postgraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence alongside a strong, long-term commitment to community development and social cohesion.
The initiative seeks to empower individuals with the skills, knowledge, and network to make a lasting impact, both within their communities and across wider society.
Scholarship recipients will benefit from:
- Funding of their Master’s degree (full costs of tuition and accommodation for a year) at the University of Cambridge
- Membership of St Edmund’s College, one of Cambridge’s most globally diverse colleges for students aged 21 and above
- Personalised one-to-one mentoring throughout their academic year
- A two to four-week placement with a respected community or research organisation
Jason Hawkes, Head of Admissions at St Edmund’s College, said:
This scholarship is about more than funding, it’s about investing in the future of British Muslim leadership. By providing access to Cambridge’s world-class academic environment and personalised mentorship, we aim to nurture leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities facing their communities today.
The scholarship complements St Edmund’s College’s mission to support and connect a global community of scholars who are committed to making a difference across disciplines, cultures, and societies to solve humanity’s challenges.
Several Master’s students have already benefited from the Randeree Scholarship, including graduate Tara Baloch. Of her experience, she said:
One of the greatest benefits of the AGM Randeree Scholarship has been the access to high-quality mentoring, which I found incredibly valuable. Each mentorship experience offered something unique, yet together they provided a well-rounded and supportive journey. The scholarship has significantly boosted my confidence and helped me feel more grounded and comfortable in my British Muslim identity. It’s an opportunity that has opened new doors and has been truly life changing. I would wholeheartedly encourage others to apply.
