Eddies FC is known for its premier status, historic cup success, and strong brotherhood. This Saturday’s 7-2 win against Abbey College was a testament to the dedication of a tenacious, unstoppable team.
Alberto Plebani, captain, said:
When I became captain, I never thought I would have a team so committed to the craft. It’s been a fantastic season, and we’ve won every league game. The best part of the year was definitely the involvement of everyone on the team and the Eddies community. We had fans showing up to our matches, and that truly meant a lot to the guys. We’re so thankful for everyone who showed up for us and look forward to another record breaking season next year.
Seppe Staelens, vice captain, also recognises the commitment of many of his team members:
During my third season for Eddies FC, I have seen the team flourish under the excellent guidance of the team captain, Alberto. I and so many other team members have given blood, sweat, and tears for the team – it was all worth it. We were able to transform a bunch of novices and a handful of seasoned players into a dynamic squad who plays beautifully on the pitch. We overcame many adversities and injuries to get to this point. Watching the final game from the sidelines after suffering a season-ending injury, I was overcome with joy and pride knowing that we secured the league title.
Winning their division means the world to Eddies FC. Don’t worry, they’ll be back and ready for more next season.
Up the Eddies.
