Find your passion, beyond your studies.
St Edmund’s is a mature, friendly college where undergraduates and postgraduates find community through sport, creativity, culture, and shared passions.
We want you to enjoy your time with us. At St Edmund’s, there are many opportunities to join a club or society. From rowing and rugby to book clubs and gardening, there’s something for everyone.
A long history of sporting excellence.
St Edmund’s has a long tradition of sporting excellence – from Olympic alumni to Boat Race crews – but our teams are built on enthusiasm, not experience. Whether you’re trying a sport for the first time or competing at University level, you’ll find a welcoming community here.
The
Boat Race
We have a proud connection to one of the world’s oldest and most famous amateur sporting events, with many of our students representing both the College and Cambridge in The Boat Race. The annual sporting event between the UK’s two greatest universities, Cambridge and Oxford, now spans 185 years of rivalry and The Boat Race has become synonymous with British tradition and excellence.
Did you know 17 of our alum have gone on to represent their countries at the Olympic Games?
Our clubs and societies
Our clubs and societies bring together undergraduates and postgraduates from all backgrounds. Whether you’re new to Cambridge or continuing your academic journey, you’ll find groups that help you connect, unwind, and explore new interests.

As an active member of many sports and activities at St Edmund's College, these experiences have truly been a fundamental part of Cambridge experience! I am an active member of the St Edmund's Boat Club and I play rugby for an Eddies affiliated postgraduate team, the All Greys RUFC. I also manage to help coach the women’s Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (CURUFC) and play for the Cambridge University Pythons American Football team (CUPAF). I also find time to be involved with the college/university CR and legal societies.

St Edmund’s College
Boat Club
As an Eddies student, you can join St Edmund’s College Boat Club. Each year they recruit enthusiastic novices eager to learn new skills and experienced seniors from all around the globe who come willing to share their expertise and develop their rowing/coxing further.
Supported by dedicated coaches and a determined committee, every member of the club receives the best possible experience of college rowing.
Rugby is my passion, and I've had the opportunity to play Varsity Rugby.
Creative and performing arts
St Edmund’s has a vibrant creative community where students come together to make music, perform, write, design and explore new ideas. Whether you’re joining the choir, collaborating on a theatre production, sharing your artwork, or simply trying something new, the College offers welcoming spaces where creativity thrives and everyone can get involved.
