Three Eddies alumni and one former senior member among those recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours list 2025.
Professor Maurice Whitehead MBE (1975, Education), Robert Noel LVO (1991, International Relations), Bill McHugh DL MBE (2017, Social Innovation) and Kevin Coutinho (Senior Member 2012-2018) were all honoured in the list announced on Friday 13 June 2025.
Each year, the King’s Birthday Honours mark extraordinary contributions made by individuals across the UK.
- Professor Maurice Whitehead was awarded his MBE for his services to British heritage in Rome.
- Robert Noel LVO was appointed a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in recognition of his service as Clarenceux King of Arms.
- Bill McHugh DL MBE was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for South Yorkshire for services to Local Government, Heritage and to the community in South Yorkshire.
- Kevin Coutinho, a Senior Member of the College between 2012 and 2018, was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his decades-long commitment to promoting equity in education and public life.
