Eilish Campbell completed an MPhil in Film and Screen Studies here at St Edmund’s last year. During her time with us, she was already excelling in her field, having been a recipient of the College Prize and having had her work selected for the MPhil in Film and Screen Graduate Symposium.

We are proud to announce that excellence and hard-work has been recognised by the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies. Her essay ‘Intertwined Ontologies and the Digital Image in Abbas Kiarostami’s 24 Frames’ secured her the ‘Best Essay by an Undergraduate or Master’s Student.’

The 14th BAFTSS Conference was held, 15 to 17 April, in Bournemouth, and is designed to give researchers and practitioners the opportunity to present their work on an international stage.

Eilish would like to extend a special thank you to Professor Ian James for his supervision of the essay, which was completed during her time with us at St Edmund’s. She is “incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to study at one of the world’s leading universities and contribute to a growing academic discipline that recognises the importance of media literacy and innovative analytical approaches to digital and screen culture.”

Eilish has just started as a Discovery and Participation Trainee at the Edinburgh International Festival. All of us here at St Edmund’s are incredibly proud of her achievements and wish her the best of luck going forward.
