Join us for a PowerHouseGames volunteering event with Power2Inspire.
Members of St. Edmund’s community are warmly invited to join Power2Inspire, a local organisation organising inclusive sport events called PowerHouseGames.
We will be supporting Power2Inspire to organise a PowerHouseGames, a multi-team event playing inclusive and adapted sports. All the activities are especially designed to be accessible and fun for everyone, old and young, with disabilities and none, sporty and not – and in so doing are wonderfully inclusive.
The object of a PowerHouseGames is to play sport together in a way that encourages all from schools, universities, sports clubs, corporations and the local community to engage in inclusive sport. Everyone is welcome – you do not have to be ‘sporty’ to join!
Attendees will get the opportunity to:
- Lead a team of 8 participants
- Help participants play inclusive sports, including boccia, sitting volleyball, walking football, and more
- Motivate and encourage participants
- Meet new friends from different colleges and sports teams
- And more!
This event is part of the Wellbeing Team’s Civic Engagement strand. These events are designed to nurture the wellbeing of our College members by promoting positive feelings of making a difference and giving back, meeting people from all walks of life, and building connections in our local Cambridge community.
Civic Engagement: PowerHouseGames will take place off site. There are options to travel there as a group, or to meet us there. All are welcome to join us.
To give the organisation an idea of numbers, booking is encouraged for this event. 1 week before the event, the Wellbeing team will circulate a booking link to all St Edmund’s students via email.
