It is with tremendous sadness that I write to you to let you know that, after a short illness, Dr Ann Kaminski died on 31 October 2023. This comes as a terrible shock to all Ann’s many friends and colleagues at St Edmund’s College and the thoughts of the fellowship and the college community are with Ann’s family at this difficult time.

Ann had been a Governing Body fellow of St Edmund’s since October 2000 and was known by many in the College for her sharp mind, willingness to help others and her passion for supporting scientists around the world, particularly in Africa. Ann joined Cancer Research UK in 2006 as Head of Scientific Administration, which includes responsibility for graduate programmes at the Institute. Ann joined St Edmund’s as a teaching fellow and was a Tutor for five years, serving on Council for two terms between 2016 and 2020.

The College flag will fly at half-mast for 2 days starting on 1 November 2023.
