Dr Sara Silvestri speaks at Home Affairs Committee Conference

Bye Fellow of the College, Dr Sara Silvestri, was a guest speaker at the Home Affairs Committee conference on countering extremism held in Cambridge on April 21st, and which is part of the evidence gathering of the government inquiry into Countering Extremism. Featuring in the panel “Tackling Radicalisation and the Counter Extremism Strategy” she addressed the impact of the strategy upon Muslim communities, the dilemmas associated with implementing the strategy in universities, and questioned the emphasis on ideology.

Dr Silvestri was also interviewed by BBC Radio London on 11 April 16 to comment on the controversial Channel4 survey What Muslims Really think.
