Dr Ben Challis
Dr Ben Challis completed his undergraduate training in Biochemistry & Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario. He obtained his PhD at the University of Cambridge, where he also obtained his MB BChir and completed specialist medical training in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology and Diabetes as a NIHR funded Academic Clinical Lecturer. His research has focused on the genetics of metabolic disease, particularly obesity and disorders of glucose metabolism, and endocrine oncology. He is currently an Honorary Consultant in Endocrinology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, Director of Studies for Clinical Medicine (Graduate Course) at St Edmund’s; and leads the Experimental Medicine team in the early Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism R&D BioPharmaceutical Unit at AstraZeneca.
