Dr Emma Poole
Dr Emma Poole has worked in molecular virology since her PhD at Cambridge where she studied the molecular virology of Influenza virus.
Following this she worked in London studying innate immune evasion of paramyxoviruses at London University in a post doctoral position before moving back to Cambridge University. After a working on a collaborative project on signalling of the UL144 gene from human cytomegalovirus, she moved on to study the molecular mechanisms of human cytomegalovirus latency. She is now a Senior Post Doctoral Research Associate working in the Department of Medicine where she carries out research as well as supervising, teaching and lecturing. Outside of work she is married to her husband, Gareth, and they have two small children.
