Dr Martin Thompson

Former Director of Admissions

Martin studied Natural Sciences (Zoology) at Magdalene College, Cambridge followed by a Masters at Imperial and a PhD in Zoology jointly with Cambridge (Magdalene College) and the Natural History Museum. His doctoral work was on the butterfly Papilio dardanus, once called ‘the most interesting butterfly in the world’.

Prior to coming to St Edmund’s, Martin worked at Peterhouse College in the admissions and schools liaison team. In his spare time Martin is a beekeeper and can be called upon to rescue errant swarms.
